We are so glad you're here. Magrath is a special little town — the kind of place where neighbours still wave from their driveways, kids play outside until dark, and everyone looks out for each other. Whether you've just moved in or you're still getting your boxes unpacked, we want you to know you've landed somewhere truly wonderful.

Services & Facilities
Town Office
Your first stop for municipal services, permits, licenses, tax questions and general information about living in Magrath.
- Services: Property taxes, utility billing, building permits, business licenses, animal licensing, bylaw inquiries, recreation booking
Magrath Public Library
A welcoming community library offering books, programs and resources for all ages. Library cards are free for Magrath residents.
Medical & Health Services
Magrath has local health services available to residents. The nearest hospitals are in Raymond (15 min) and Lethbridge (25 min).
Transfer Station & Landfill
Drop off household waste at the Magrath Transfer Station located south of town past the Golf Course road turnoff. Fridges and deep freezes require a $30 permit — purchase at Town Hall before arriving.
SASH Bottle Depot & Recycling Centre
Return bottles and recyclables at the SASH Bottle Depot and Recycling Centre. The blue box recycling program is also picked up curbside by SASH on collection day.

School Registration
Magrath has two excellent schools serving all ages from Kindergarten to Grade 12, both part of the Westwind School Division.
- Magrath Elementary School — Kindergarten to Grade 6. Website: mes.westwind.ab.ca

Garbage & Recycling
Curbside garbage and blue box recycling are picked up on a set weekly schedule. Blue box recycling is collected by SASH.
- Transfer Station — open Wednesday and Saturday 9am–6pm, located south of town past the Golf Course road turnoff. Fridges and deep freezes require a $30 permit from Town Hall.
- Recycling Centre — located at the Old Town shop by the Transfer Station
- SASH Bottle Depot — Wed–Fri 1–5pm, Sat 9am–5pm, Phone: (403) 758-0009

Utilities & Services Setup
As a new resident you will receive monthly utility bills from the Town covering:
- Water & Wastewater — treated drinking water supplied to your home, wastewater collected and treated
- Garbage Collection — curbside pickup of household waste and recycling on a set schedule
- Yard Waste Collection — seasonal collection of grass clippings, leaves and branches
- Irrigation Water — seasonal May to September. Each property has an irrigation standpipe — use this for outdoor watering instead of treated water to save on your bill
- Bills are sent in the first week of each month and due on the 28th
- For electricity and natural gas choose your own provider — rates and plans vary
Licenses & Permits
Dog Licensing — all dogs must be licensed with the Town of Magrath. Contact Town Hall to register your pet.
- Business Licensing — if you are operating a business or home-based business in Magrath you will need a business license.
- Building Permits — required for new construction, additions, renovations and solar panels
Recreation & Programs
Magrath has excellent recreation facilities and programs for all ages — from swimming lessons and hockey to pickleball and disc golf.
- Facilities include: Outdoor pool (seasonal), Garth Veale Arena (seasonal), multi-sport courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, skateboard park, disc golf course, trails
